Veterans Program

The Veterans Program is our effort to provide information, education, support and treatment for individuals who have served in the US Armed Forces and are currently struggling with addiction and/or trauma related to their personal experiences. Some veterans can abuse or become addicted to alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, and misuse prescription medications in an effort to cope and adjust to civilian life.

Realization Center creates and maintains an atmosphere of safety and comfort which is necessary to anyone who seeks assistance for addiction and related issues. The Center empowers the Veteran to take charge of his/her treatment and live a full and meaningful life. The Veterans Program is staffed by Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSWs), Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselors (CASACs), Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) and Psychiatrists (MDs) who are experts in the fields of substance use disorders, behavioral and mental health. All staff have been trained to better understand military culture and recognize the importance of the veteran’s military background.

Realization Center recognizes that the service member may find it difficult to ask for help with their addiction. Veterans have proudly served our country and it is our mission to provide them with a confidential, safe and non-judgmental environment to offer a genuine path to recovery. Realization Center is committed to focus on the veteran’s strengths and gives respect, honor and hope to our nation’s heroes and their families.

Individualized Programs

Our individualized program looks at the veteran’s recovery to address constraints. A 12-step philosophy is part of the clinical program while group therapy, individual counseling, couples counseling and chemical dependency education constitute the psychodynamic core of the Center’s culturally competent approach. Realization Center’s specialized treatment program for veterans understands what veterans have experienced and what their needs are.

Dual Diagnosis

Our medical / psychiatric staff provides dual diagnosis services for those seeking assistance for addiction along with psychological or emotional problems such as anxiety, depression, bipolar illness and bereavement / loss issues.

Our Program

Unique And Tailored Program

The Veterans Program is unique and tailored to meet the needs of the Veteran community regardless of discharge status. A Veteran who feels anxious or depressed may be drinking or using drugs, may have nightmares about combat, or feels something just isn’t right will speak with a counselor to be thoroughly assessed.

Our Program

Treatment Plan

Realization Center is committed to making evidence based treatments available to all clients. Using weekly group and individual psychotherapy, Realization Center aims to provide psychoeducation, motivation enhancement therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialetical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to help clients and their families on how to manage a program of recovery.

Realization Center’s Qualified Health Professionals know that in many cases substance use problems are continuing conditions that require care over a long period of time. However, for some veteran’s the substance use problems may be resolved more quickly with attention paid to related problems such as post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, pain, disturbed sleep, irritability and / or relationship problems.
